The player selection committee elected Goalie Tim Howard to be part of the US Soccer Hall of Fame. According to soccer news reports, he got 46 out of 48 votes. Also, his induction will be on May 4.
Also elected was Josh McKinney, who captained the United States' seven-a-side Paralympic squad. Howard, 52 years old, was the starting goalkeeper for the United States men's national team from 2002 to 2017. He was also the country's representative at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
He had a 13-year stint in the English Premier League with Everton (from 2003 to 2006) and Manchester United (from 1998 to 2003) after playing for the New York/New Jersey MetroStars of Major League Soccer (2006-16). The 2004 Premier League season saw him named the league's best goalkeeper.
