Royal Panda, an international online casino based out of Malta has just signed a three year sponsorship deal with West London’s football club, Queens Park Rangers(QPR). This is an expansion move on the pat of Royal Panda which will begin for the 2017-2017 football season.
As the main shirt sponsor for QPR, this means that Royal Panda Casino will now be able to promote their online casino games to “legions of sports fans around the world.”
The sponsorship deal with Royal Panda Casino will make this QPR’s second gambling sponsor. Recently, several popular betting companies and even sports betting platform providers have entered in the football industry through shirt sponsorship. Some of the bigger names include Bet365, Dafabet, 32red and Mansion Casino.
With the many controversies that has been in the news with football around the world, this announcement has not been well received everywhere on social media with many people believing that QPR was getting too involved with the gambling industry.
However, it I not because they are against gambling, it is because of the law which prohibits kids shirts to have any gambling advertisement on them. This means that the adult shirt will be different then the kids’ shirt.
The new shirt for QPR will have the traditional blue and white strips with the home kit having a round neck with blue trim to move away from last season's red v-neck design. The away kit on the other hand will be a deep green with black strips, with the third kit a pronounced red-on-blue design, both with matching collar and sleeve trim.
